No weather to work hard. Temperatures of 39 degrees C in the shadow and extreme high humidity. Farmers around us, earlier than last years, are preparing their ricefields. Many thunderstorms and tropical rainshowers already.
Because of the rain the road to our site is hard to drive. Muddy and big holes. Heavy trucks and private cars could not use it already for days. Even the weather forecast is unpredictable. The weather changes with the hour and predictions change by the hour as well.
We managed to weld, fix and paint the main steel construction for the flat roof and bathroom of the second guest pyramid room. But to go on with the roof construction first the concrete for the ground floor need to be poured and for that we needed a heavy truck again.
The last four days we were lucky with no rainfall. So we decided to rent the formwork and just hope for some dry weather.
Because of the high temperatures for me it was only possible to work every time half an hour (and take a break of around twenty minutes) on the formwork. We have to work in full sun and real feel of the temperature is much higher. Sweating a lot, sometimes I feel as a small waterfall ;). so drinking (water and isotone sportdrink) a lot too.
Saturday we contacted the concrete plant and heard it was even possible they delivered on Pentecost Sunday. Sunday morning, before going to the church and checking the weather conditions, we decided to order for the afternoon.
A kind of gamble but everything worked out well. This morning the Buddha and the lotus flowers and waterlilies had a soft smile. Kadhow even brought us a fifth turtle for the pond.
An Australian foreigner, who lives is the same village with his girlfriend, yesterday told us in his opinion we earned a medal for working in this weather conditions ;).
Today lots of rain on its way. Good for the farmers and good for the concrete of the ground floor. Early this morning already I cured the concrete. It has to rest for a couple of days so we can go on with the steelconstruction of the roof.
We think this was the last concrete delivery this year. Possibly next year in the cool dry period we can start with the foundation of the main house.
In the mean time we can work (slowly) on the windows, doors and inside of the first guest room.
