Roof tiling finished, rain causing 'troubles' and interupting wasps

Finally we could finish the roof tiling with fixing the round and end ridges.

The extreme amount of ongoing rainfall this month proofs the roof and connections are not leaking. The same rain helps the rice to grow but it's time to come to an end because in a couple of weeks harvest time needs to start. Ongoing rainfall can give mold and so diminish the quality of the (most Jasmin) rice.

The long rainfall also starts to influence more and more the village life. The land is oversaturated with water now and at most places, we are one of them, start to disturb the working of the sewage systems. Our soak away field temporary is disturbed and cannot drain enough water. So, great idea of Phatsamon, we decided to make a separate wateroutlet for the washing machine. Things, so far, are working again.

Still no heavy trucks can arrive and enter to our site so we still have to wait for new construction materials to arrive. The dirt road is more than slippery and terrible to drive even with our Kia truck. So, in the process now we use the materials and leftovers we still have. We finished the installation of the water supply for pyramid room II and started with some block laying. In pyramid room I we work a bit inside on the walls. All together not too much progress because of the weather but still progress. On the other hand, no problem, I am retired ;).

Very slowly the new idea for the new design of the main house is arriving. Nice to work on that as well.

Working in the garden, cutting branches again, I interrupted some bees. No nest but waiting (or taking shelter against the rain) under a leaf of a tree. So another attack. This time 'only' one that succeeded to attack me just under my nose. Being more than allergic for them it took me around three days, even after taking strong medicines within two minutes after the bite, to get my original face back. Back on track again.

For us, even as for Kadhow (and dog Joke) who want to play outside again, we have had enough rain now. The weather forecast does not agree with our wish and promise us at least another ten days filled full of water. It is the way it is.

Rainy rainy season in the green valley.

The so far ongoing rains create a great green valley around us. The adjacent rice fields start flourishing more and more.  Kadhow does not really like the rain. Still a couple of weeks to go.

It took a week to cut, place and connect all the tiles end pieces and the base of the dry tech system for installing the round ridges. Failing the delivery of the U-ditches (gutters) we have to wait to place them.

Our small pump over and over again needs to work hard to take the water out so we can start work again. It's all part of the process.

In the mean time we started with doing some preparations for the activities to come.

Rain, we love the breaks.

The rainy season causes a lot of breaks in our process. Time to relax, take a coffee, look around and enjoy the company of each other and dog Kadhow.

Last week we managed to clear the pond from an overkill of morning glory and other water plants. So we can see our pond again and the birds like it (I don't know about the fishes). Sure it will be 'crowdy' with plants for sure soon.

We are happy to have the small submersible pump to pump the rainwater away. In a couple of weeks it will be more dry so the U-ditches can be delivered and we can fix the gutters.

We started with putting the rooftiles in place. A careful process especially because of slippery stepladder and steel. The next two weeks we hope to finish the roof. Cutting the corner rooftiles and placing the ridges is precision work and we want to do it right.
