Time for a holiday during the ongoing holiday

LIVING Life.

We decided to take a short holiday during our ongoing holidays. 

Although we like the process we are in, it is also time to relax even more and enjoy this wonderful country. 

Last Friday we succeeded to fit and weld the four double steel corner beams for the second pyramid guest room. A heavy job, nearly 6,5 meters of length each. It took some time to discover (again) how to deal with all the different corners we had to match but we succeeded. 

After welding and grinding we painted the welds with red oxid primer against rusting. Last Saturday we ordered new materials to come. A good time to breath even more and maybe to start with developing (changing) the plans of our main house to come.

So, for a short while, we will not publish progress. But... don't worry. We intend to come back with new developments soon.

Safety, security and more

Many people still do not have an idea of what we are building. They think what they see is our house. Actually the two guest room pyramids we are working on now are 'only' two (luxury) bedrooms of the house. We are around one and a half years on the process that all together will take many more years. So, so far we are only building bedrooms ;). 

Safety and security were the main parts of my former Dutch profession. So, infected with that long virus, it's part of our building process. Fire prevention is involved in all the parts of our building process. Smoke detectors, emergency lighting, Fire-extinguishers, in all the pyramids. And last week we installed a brand-new (2021/2564) CCTV system with several (cabled) cameras. Just to keep an 24-hours eye on our growing property and to store for some time what was going on around at the time. 

It's really amazing what kind of modern features and high quality (and yes, quality has it's price) are included in this present security systems.

The installation we did for now is just the start and we will even more expand the system building next constructions during the process.

The outside of the first pyramid room now is nearly finished the front door with special (double) stained glass and automatic door closing mechanism high quality (Häfele) locks and hinges installed and special sun protection side glass. 

We treated the wooden doorframe and door with special anti-termites sealing and put a first layer of clear varnish on. This changed the basic color of the wood and we will find a second an third color paint and protection layer later to get the door in the right and wanted appearance. 

It took some time and effort to get the right slopes for the cement bathroom toplayer of the floor. We worked with the laser and hope after tiling it shows we did it right. Schower and  scrubbing water flowing to the right places of the sewage system.

The second air-conditioning is installed. People laugh about the capacity (BTU) of this technique we brought in, but we want to be sure about the cooling capacity for my children and our guests who want to visit us in the future. 

Also we made some progress with the electricity system. Some parts are already running but to finish it will take more time.

Slow but steady working on two guest pyramid rooms now

Every day a little bit but still...

We managed to put the frame of the rooftop of the second guest room in place so (if not raining) we can go on with welding the pyramid roof frame construction. From the outside it starts to show a second pyramid now already. 

The side window with ventilation and bathroom exhaust fan are in position now. We are waiting for the wooden front door with stained glass inlay we ordered to be promised to arrive this week. 

The day after tomorrow we will get the air-conditioning unit installed. The walls are nearly ready. As a protection of the hand-form brickwork, Phatsamon put a special varnish on the bricks. It's a protection against rain and UV. 

Rockwool Stay Cool isolation (Rt -27) started to be in all the areas that have an outside/inside connection. A 7.5 cm thick isolation that offers us another possibility to keep the inside of the guestrooms comfortable with the air-conditioning and saves a bit energy. It will be an extra layer between the rooftiles and the ceilings, the already 2,5 cm PU isolated flat metal sheet roof and inside the metal stud walls.

I installed a special Hotel energy save switch with key-card connecting the air-conditioning, the shower boiler, electric hair dryer and fans. This needed a special thick copper wire because this 'consumers' use a lot of energy. 

Outside we started with some tiling to be ready for the outdoor condenser unit of the air-conditioning to be placed. 

I worked in the bathroom to place some small walls with glass blocks around the shower place and installed the shower drain and an emergency/floor cleaning drain.

Also the electricity for the fire alarm and emergency light unit now is installed.
