We decided not to go out for dinner this evening. Phatsamon on the scooter hurried to her mom to pick up some rice. Thunder and lightning coming closer and closer.
Just on her way back she heard and saw a huge thunder and lightning combination hit our temporary container home. Straight above our place. I was happy just to be inside with Kadhow. Never in my life had this experience.
The container really acted as a Faraday shield and the earth connection I made worked as a lightning rod. A strange feeling to feel an extreme amount of energy traveling around you. As if you are in a bubble. Our power switch board, all groups, switched off immediately. The container shaking on it's foundation. A wonderful test.
Our house is in the middle of the field and, although there is a cowshed as neighbor, our just finished steel roof is higher.
This morning I had to check for damage. Only a fan got some damage but it was easy to fix it. Everything worked out well and... happy to be inside, everything safe.
