Very quick, after a written request dropped yesterday at the authorities, we just got a phonecall already from the Orbortor (department building regulations and permissions) to pick up our extension for another year of our building permit for the main house. So, again legally, we can go on with our building process not giving me problems with building and Thai immigration laws as well.
We decided to do a try-out with pyramid II before getting any family and friends being guests at our place. Also good to get experiences during the rainy season.
So we use pyramid II at the moment as our bedroom for a week. Great to do, to feel and to discover if everything is working properly. We re-installed a curtain rail, the individual WiFi extender and had to do a bit paintwork because we forgot some small spots. Also we changed the position of one CCTV camera to get better sight and made a path between pyramid I and pyramid II.
Everything working and doing fine. We are happy for that.
Also our dogs like to be in although for them it was a strange experience to be in the same place (as pyramid I) being at another place. Kadhow who, if no rain, is always acting as outside security guard of the front door needed some time to get used. Quickly he discovered he has to be where the shoes are outside for the right place to 'protect'.
The rainy season started and it's hot and humid at the moment. We have our weather station online. Many times it feels as working in a sauna. Being finished now with all the former constructions, now we only can focus on our main house. And with the Western way of building (my own choice), at the moment we cannot work during the present tropical rainshowers and thunderstorm. So only a couple of hours a day are left. No problem, no schedule.
Because of many powerbreaks of the provincial electricity network we installed now in all our buildings emergency lights. Already we had a generator to take over the main power needs for the water system for the whole project and full functioning of the TED's (Talk, Eat & Drink place).
The TED's, controlroom, workplace and some spots in our garden have solar lights. We just changed two garden solar flood lights (Chinese brand) into Philips floodlights because after one year the old once broke down already. In the evening for a couple of hours you can see the pyramid-rooms on site now.
We succeeded in finishing the sewage system of the main house. We still had to connect and dig for one sewage pipe. The outlets of the two toilets to install end into a 1200 liter septic tank. After the organic proces the remaining water flows into a second 800 liter tank. This tank also receives directly the waste water of the shower and sinks. From that second tank the water flows into the soak away field.
The installed pipe we placed just after the outlet of the second tank. In case of the soak away field is soaked by rain (most chance in September) still the system keeps working because now it has en emergency outlet into our (two meter lower) ricefield.
It took about one week, in between rainshowers, to dig the line for the pipe and to install. The rain we needed because the soil was too hard to dig.
The veranda of the house I welded and painted with Red Oxide primer, started to rust. It will take at least a year till we are in the process to paint the toplayers and put the floorplanks in. So we got advise to use another grey (epoxy) primer. For that we needed to take the old primer off as far as possible with a sanding machine. After that we painted the new coating. Not nice to do because this material dries very quickly and we could only do very early in the morning if no rain and the temperatures were still low. Again a job with breaks that took about one week.
Last but not least we got a long powerbreak after a huge thunderstorm. Good all our buildings are well protected. So I started the generator and Phatsamon could cook for dinner. Just after she was finished the generator stopped working.
Happy all the emergency lights started to work but no power for continuing the water supply, no cooling, no fans and no airconditioning. The whole village (no province) dark. Only our solar lights showing our place.
It worked out the fuel line broke and benzine started to leak. Happy we saw this on time. So, for nearly four hours no power and I had to do some repair the next day.
I also bought an extra fire-extinguisher to change with the big one of the TED's. The big one now is for the workplace and controlroom. Hope we will never need them.
The good news...Everything is working again.
So all together soon we will go back to our temporary bedroom pyramid I and we are slowly going on with the main house.
