Kadhow warned us already a week before about a rat in the surroundings. But we could not find it.
A couple of days later we got in two mosquito screens of TED's place a hole. After that our CCTV system got problems and several camera's stopped working. In the evening we discovered some sounds between the roof of TED's place and the sun protection roof. We use this space for storage of construction materials as sewage and water pipes and metal roof battens.
And yes, there it was in one of the sewage pipes stored a just made nest with... electric wires of the CCTV, mosquito screen netting and some leaves of the Eucalyptus trees surrounding our place.
Let's face it. Living in the middle of rice fields and forest we are the intruders of this biotope. We disturbed the balance there was so we have to find ways to deal with it and bring as much as possible balance back in combination with happy living without too much always unexpected disturbances.
The rat did her job very well. Many cables at several places were broken by her sharp teeth's. Not possible just to fix them.
It took nearly a day to buy new special wires and renew and re-install the CCTV system. Wires now are covered, as far as possible, with metal battens. The big sewage pipes between the double roof we removed. So... waiting for the next disturbing things to happen again.
Just on time, before long rain showers that made the use of the dirt road impossible again, we got a truck of sand delivered. Enough to fill up the gab between the u-ditches around guest pyramid II and for sand-cement screed for leveling the concrete floors.
Kadhow is already used to this but for Cupid it was her first experience. She directly started to dig a hole direction the other side of the world.
We finished brick gluing. Installed the glass block windows of the bathroom. Prepared the place for the bathroom fan (the former fan we used is out of stock so we had to find another one). Happy we did not have to change the inside and outside wall for it again. We placed the big side window and prepared the floor of the bathroom and outside small veranda for tiling.
Last but not least... Last Sunday after two and a half week we got our Kia truck after repair back from the garage again so we could buy some new construction materials.
